Awards

BSS or BCS - Bronze Service Star

BSM - Bronze Star Medal.  fourth-highest award for bravery, heroism or meritorious service.
DFC - Distinguished Flying Cro
ss.  Heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight.
DSC - Distinguished Service Cross.
DSM - Distinguished Service Medal.
MSM - Meritorious Service Medal.
Legion of Merit.
MH or MOH - Medal of Honor.  Highest military honor, awarded for personal acts of valor above and beyond the call of duty.
POW - POW Medal (Prisoner of War).  Issued only to those U.S. military personnel and other personnel granted creditable U.S. military service who were taken prisoner and held captive.
PH - Purple Heart.  Awarded in the name of the President to those who have been wounded or killed while serving on or after April 5, 1917 with the U.S. military.
